Often used in the vegetable garden, their foliage smothers weeds and their roots prevent soil erosion, improve soil health, fix nitrogen, and will improve water infiltration. When dug into the ground while still green, they return valuable nutrients to the topsoil and improve soil structure. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA diverse mix includes \u003cstrong\u003ecowpea, buckwheat sunflower, vetch, bio-fumigated mustard (\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003ereduces fungi and nematodes)\u003c\/span\u003e, radish, lab-lab bean, fenugreek, rye, sunflower, oat, mung bean, endive, rocket, purslane, millet and soybean\u003c\/strong\u003e depending upon the availability of seeds to improve soil health and attract pollinators.
