The branched stems stand 45 to 90cm tall and flower from summer into autumn, often from the second summer after sowing. Give it full sun and lean, sandy or free-draining soil: once settled it copes with drought, salty coastal wind and poor ground. It has a long taproot, so choose its spot early and move it young.
