How to use a discount code
Got a discount code from us? Lovely. Here is everything worth knowing, in plain English, so the savings land where they should.
The fast way: use the button in our email
If your code arrived by email, the big button in that email does the work for you. It reopens your cart with the code already applied. Nothing to type, nothing to copy. If you can already see the discount in your order total, you are done. Go pick where the seedlings will live.
Typing the code yourself
Discounts are not automatic. Unless you used our email button, your code needs to be entered at checkout. The box is easy to miss, so here is exactly where it lives:
- Computer: at checkout, look at the order summary on the right side of the page. Find the box labelled Discount code or gift card, type or paste your code, then press Apply.
- Phone or tablet: at checkout, tap Order summary at the very top of the page (the line that shows your total, with a little arrow). It unfolds to reveal the Discount code or gift card box. Type or paste your code, tap Apply. There is also an Add discount button just above Pay now that opens the same box.
What it looks like
On a computer: the box sits in the order summary on the right, circled below in red.
On a tablet: tap Order summary at the top to reveal the box.
On a phone: same spot, tap Order summary first.
Copying a code from an email: press and hold the code on a phone or tablet, or double-click it on a computer, then choose Copy.
The house rules
- One code per order. Discounts never combine with each other, and that includes free shipping offers. If you are holding two codes, play favourites.
- Percentage codes apply to your items only (the subtotal). Shipping, and any fees, sit outside the discount.
- Free shipping codes cover standard postage only. Express and Signature on Delivery are always charged at their normal price.
- Western Australia and Tasmania: the $6.00 WA quarantine inspection fee and the $3.00 TAS biosecurity fee are government requirements, so they are always charged, even when shipping itself is free. We would happily discount gravity too, but some things are beyond a seed company.
- Personal codes are personal. A code we email you is created for you alone, works once, and has the expiry date shown in the email.
- Minimum spend: some codes need the cart to stay above a minimum, which is stated in the email that brought the code.
If the code will not apply
- Check the expiry date in the email. Codes do not outlive it.
- Use the same email address at checkout that the code was sent to.
- Check the minimum spend, if the email mentioned one.
- Make sure no other code is already applied to the order.
- Still stuck? Reply to the email that brought you here and a human will sort it out.
That is the lot. Now go put something in the ground. Your future salad is counting on you.
