Baby Broccoli BROCKY F1- 15 Seeds
Important - Please read before buying: We are selling ONLY 15 Baby Broccoli Brocky F1 seeds per packet for the listed price. These are specialty commercial PREMIUM hybrid seeds, which is rare and a lot expensive than open-pollinated seeds. Being a hybrid strain, it is not suitable for seed saving.
Also known as, broccoletti, broccolette.
Days to Maturity: 60 from transplanting. It can be harvested up to 8 times per planting.
It has slender, succulent stems, but this is 100% broccoli, with a peppery-sweet bite you will savour. This gourmet variety is delicious from top to bottom, with really exceptional flavour and texture.
Unlike regular broccoli, baby Broccoli Brocky has tender stems to the ground, with small, delicious leaves. Occasionally a rogue yellow flower will set, especially if you are growing this baby Broccoli in late spring in a warm climate. Go ahead and eat the flower, too - you'll be surprised at how good it is! And the stems are slender and smooth, so you need never peel or chop them.
The key to harvesting is to cut that central crown as soon as it's formed. This will lead to great side-shoot production. After that, you're fixed up for great eating for many weeks to come since it's a vigorous grower! The shoots can be easily snapped off the plant.
*Information about Pelleted Seeds:
Pelleted seeds were developed for commercial growers who use machines to sow seeds. Pelleted seeds are regular plant seeds that have been coated to give them a round, smooth, uniform shape and size, making it less likely for them to jam a mechanical seeder and increasing the accuracy of the seeder in terms of spacing. It also improves evenness in germination. The few varieties of seeds we offer as pelleted contain no seed treatment or chemicals.
Pelleted seeds are also helpful to the home gardener because they are easy to see and handle.
NOTE: Extra care must be taken with all pelleted seeds. Be sure to keep the seedbed EXTRA moist until germination. If the seedbed is allowed to dry out, the clay pelleting material may leach moisture from the seed, resulting in poor germination.
Propagation notes will be supplied with a seed packet.
