CELERY Light Green (Apium graveolens)
This Asian style celery is mostly used in soups and stews. The pencil thin bright light green stalks can be harvested in the micro-green stage at about 30 days. It will be fully mature at about 60 days.
It will withstand harvesting for many months. The stalks and leaves have that distinct celery smell and taste.
The thickness of sowing would depend upon the purpose for which the stalks are to be harvested. Plant much closer when used for microgreens.
Sowing time vary depending upon your local climate. Sow seeds indoor 6 weeks before the last expected frost. Soak seeds overnight in water. Sow seeds on surface of a well-drained seed raising mix into punnets or cell trays. Germination is in 14-21 days. Celery is very slow growing. Transplanting stage will take about 6 weeks from germination. Plant spacing 15-25cm, space rows 40-70cm apart. Keep moist and maturity in 9-140 days
