Seeds Type: Hybrid, Treated with Thiram

Syn. Chinese Broccoli; Chinese kale; gai lum, gai lan (China); kol (Indonesia); kai lan (Malaysia); phak khana (Thai); cai ro (Vietnam)

Frank F1 is a hybrid stem type Chinese broccoli (Kailaan) seed variety. It is slightly slower maturing compare to other popular hybrid variety which gives good harvest flexibility. The plant produces thick, tender stems with rounded green leaves with excellent uniformity. It is used in Asian cooking as a sweeter alternative to baby broccoli.

Although this variety is best suited to cooler seasons but can be harvested all year round.

Kailaan or Chinese broccoli tastes very similar to broccoli or calabrese. It is a compact plant and requires very little space. The whole stem, leaves, flowers and stalks are all edible and delicious and tender especially when eaten young. Add to stir-fries or lightly steam like conventional vegetables.

Propagation notes will be supplied with a seed packet.
