Pea Massey Gem is a very popular variety for professional farmers or home gardeners. It is the most widely used commercial shelling pea variety for the fresh market in Australia.
These quick maturing dwarf plants grow to 60-75 cm tall and produce large pods containing 8 peas. Massey Gem peas taste sweet and suitable for freezing. They are hardy, disease-resistant and suited to cold areas.
Sow in late Summer to Autumn, Need a minimum of 13-15°C to germinate. Soak in water for few hours, Sow 20mm deep, 40cm apart. Emerge in 10-14 days. Grow indoors during extreme weather & transplant when mature. Harvest in approx. 70-80 days
